Michael Jones, acclaimed by many as the greatest rugby player of all time, as Head Coach of the Manu Samoa National Rugby Team recommends Tour Time NZ Ltd for planning and co-ordinating New Zealand Rugby Tours and/or providing quality tour coach services.
Michael Jones is also widely regarded as the most outstanding rugby player of his generation, the best flanker ever seen and he certainly would be a candidate of any dream All Black XV.
He played 74 matches for the All Blacks in 11 years.
- When available, Jones was one of the first names selected for any All Black team
- First he played as an openside flanker and later blindside flanker, No 6
- Played for Barbarians, New Zealand Colts, the All Blacks, The Blues Super 12, Auckland Province and because of his Samoan heritage, Manu Samoa
- His strict Christian faith prevented him playing rugby on a Sunday
- Called into the All Blacks in 1987 he scored the opening try of the inaugural World Cup
- His greatest moment as an All Black was winning the Inaugural World Cup in 1987
- As an All Black Jones scored the opening try against England in the 1991 World Cup
- Very effective All Black in 1996 winning 43-6 over the Wallabies in inaugural Tri Nations
- 1996 as an All Black won the first test against The Springboks in South Africa
- Nicknamed 'The Iceman', which is also the title of his autobiography.
- A great mentor and role model for the world famous Jonah Lomu
- 2001 became the assistant coach of Samoa
- Gained two University degrees: BA and MA: also BPlan
- 2003 the International Rugby Hall of Fame Trust inducted him into the Sports' International Hall of fame
