Our current tour that independent travelers, individuals or small groups of friends or family can join is being held from 11th – 30th October 2012 and is a New Zealand Steam train tour.

This is a huge tour. Not just a journey, an adventure! Five different steam locomotives, fantastic scenery, rare mileage and off train sightseeing make this tour a winner. The ability to chase the train by road in a luxury touring coach over certain lines makes this tour very special. This also makes for magical photo shoots. You have the choice of either riding in the steam train or riding in a luxury touring coach beside the train. Excellent accommodation throughout the tour is included. Come and join the friendly people on our private train. Your luggage travels on the coach (bus) and when you arrive at each Hotel your luggage is already in your room.

Travel with us from Auckland to Westport, and lots of places in between, behind our beautifully restored steam locomotives. Sit back and relax as the wild and wonderful New Zealand scenery rolls past your window. There will be photo runs in some scenic locations, many that are not accessible by road. We stop in some of New Zealand's most beautiful cities - this tour is more than just a train trip. You will have a chance to soak up some Maori culture and see the thermal wonderland of Rotorua. Visit the remote and starkly beautiful West Coast of the South Island. Travel over the rugged beauty of the Napier to Gisborne line. Visit the Art Deco city of Napier and the Garden City of Christchurch. Travel down the stunning Marlborough Sounds on the Interisland Rail Ferry.
