4 DAY TOUR: BAY OF ISLANDS DISCOVERY

Explore the Beauty of the Birth Place of New Zealand

The Bay of Islands is an aquatic playground lavishly furnished with 144 islands and a myriad of secluded beaches. It is also a place of historical significance. Māori settled here early in their migrations and it is the birthplace of European colonisation in the country. The Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840, establishing New Zealand as a nation of the British Empire.

We know and love New Zealand, we want you to love it too!

We can operate this itinerary as an individual tour for your choir or we will be taking expressions of interest from individuals wishing to participate in these extended tours. The tour dates and confirmation will depend on meeting minimum tour numbers.

Day 1 - Arrival - Auckland - Omapere

"Haere Mai" - Welcome to Auckland, Aotearoa (New Zealand)! Imagine an urban environment where everyone lives within half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanted holiday islands. Add a sunny climate, a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine and shopping – you’re beginning to get the picture of Auckland. Auckland’s blend of islands, Polynesian culture, glistening harbours and modern city environment creates an unbelievable lifestyle ranked amongst the best in the world.

Our tour departs Auckland, with its impressive waters and as we cross the Harbour Bridge you will see why Auckland is known as 'The City of Sails.' We journey further north on through the spectacular West Coast to Omapere on the south shore of the Hokianga Harbour.

Today’s Options:
Matakohe Kauri Museum – The story of our pioneering settlers through the lens of the award-winning Kauri Museum.
Footprints - a life changing twilight experience led by our Maori Guide who will brief you on the strict protocol before entering the forest. Stepping into our special world you will be walking under the same stars that guided our ancestor Kupe to New Zealand. On the paths of the forest we meet trees that were already giants before Kupe’s arrival, and that were standing before the birth of Christ. Tane Mahuta, the giant kauri tree is known as the “God of the Forest.”
