What if my flight gets cancelled?

Flying with a group of children can be stressful even when you have the support and expertise of the inspiresport team behind you. As leaders in the sector, we are aware that one of the most common concerns is a potential flight cancellation. Although many of the reasons to why a flight may be cancelled are out of our control, at inspiresport we do everything in our power to ensure any potential disruption to your tour is kept to a minimum.’

What do we do to ensure a smooth trip?

To give you as much peace of mind as possible we have a strict flight booking policy that each member of our team follows. It ensures that the location of the airport and the time of the flight are as convenient as possible. Furthermore, the policy guarantees that only trusted airlines are used. It also makes sure that the process is delivered as much in advance as possible.

To ensure all of these requirements are met we usually ask for a list of three preferred airports. It’s important to provide your account manager with all needed passenger details within 14 days of booking.

We also constantly monitor any potential threats of flight cancellations and airline strikes. That way we have the latest information and are fully prepared.

What if my flight gets cancelled at the last minute?

In August 2018 the Civil Aviation Society reported that less than 1% of all UK flights got cancelled. It is very unlikely your flight will get cancelled last minute! If it does it is important to remember that our team is always reachable. “We offer a 24-hour support to our groups when traveling and there always is someone on the other end of the line.” says Mark Bowden – transport coordinator at inspiresport.

He went on to say that at inspiresport we understand how important communication is in those events and we’ll make sure we keep you informed throughout.

On rare occasions, we have needed to deal with flight cancellations. That being said, we have been able to put our group on alternative flights. We have ensured they still receive the tour they booked. “Even though in the travel industry we can often face unexpected hurdles, we rely on our experience and expertise to overcome them and react to a situation as best as possible” – says Ryan Brittany – Senior Operations Manager.

Other than arranging alternative transport, we will make sure you are aware of your rights. We can also help you seek financial compensation from the airline concerned.
